Lion Corporation has been presented with a Gold Class award in the overall category of the SUSTAINA ESG AWARDS 2022, selected by SUSTAINA JAPAN Inc., for the second year in a row. In addition, Lion received a Silver award for attaining the highest overall score in the chemical industry category.
In June 2019, the Lion Group formulated the LION Eco Challenge 2050, a set of long-term environmental objectives, and positioned “Promoting Environmental Initiatives for a Sustainable Planet” as its top priority material issues, aiming to achieve both a sustainable society and business development.
The SUSTAINA ESG AWARDS were created by SUSTAINA JAPAN Inc. to recognize companies that are actively involved in ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) activities. In the overall category, the top 100 companies with the highest overall scores, consisting of ESG and financial scores, are selected as leading sustainability management companies, with the top 20 companies placed in the Gold Class, followed by 30 companies in the Silver Class and 50 companies in the Bronze Class.
In February 2021, the Lion Group established its long-term strategic framework, Vision2030, with the management vision of “Becoming an advanced daily healthcare company.” One of the management strategies to realize this management vision is to strengthen efforts to address Sustainability Material Issues.
In cooperation with all stakeholders, the Group will accelerate and expand its efforts to address environmental issues that are spreading on a global scale.
