- TANO-LT will support you! Make getting regular exercise fun!
TANO-LT, the fun nursing care exercise game powered by motion sensors.
A fun way to transform a haphazard approach to exercise into a full commitment that offers a sense of
accomplishment !
Special motion sensors track the body’s movement,
Each correct movement earns points, making exercise a game.
The game provides concrete data that shows user progress, helping motivate continued exercising.
There are more than 180 activity options. In addition to exercise and games, TANO-LT can also measure physical
function.
The Kenkomin Exercise, a proprietary exercise activity, offers efficient training for simultaneously improving
oral functions, sleep functions (autonomic nervous system), and locomotor functions, supporting the
independence of the user.
Are you experiencing any of these challenges at your nursing care facility?
-
I want to make exercise time more fun
Even if you know you should exercise, it inevitably gets boring and the programs become stale. I wish there was a way to make it more fun and positive so it will be easier for our patients to continue.
-
I want to lower the cancellation rate
It's hard for day services users to maintain their motivation for exercise and rehabilitation, so the cancellation rate is always high. I would like to lower the cancellation rate for the sake of both patients' health and for our business.
-
I want to reduce the burden on the night shift workers
Less exercise during the day inevitably leads to increased nurse calls at night, and results in problems like wandering. I would really like to reduce the burden on the night shift.
TANO-LT is a service that offers the solution to these problems.
About TANO-LT
A countermeasure against frailty, the aspect of aging entailing physical and mental decline.
A countermeasure against frailty, the aspect of aging entailing physical and mental decline.
As the user follows along with the movements shown on the screen of the Kenkomin Exercise, the sensor tracks their body, checking them for accuracy in real time. In addition to making the exercise feel like a game, the system lets players compete with each other and try to improve their scores. By making exercise fun, it helps prevent frailty, the age-related physical and mental deterioration.
Simultaneous, efficient training in three areas: oral functions, sleep functions and locomotor functions
Simultaneous, efficient training in three areas: oral functions, sleep functions and locomotor functions
TANO, developed by TANOTECH CORPORATION, is a motion sensor game system for welfare, nursing care, and educational settings with more than 180 different exercise, speech, and brain training programs played simply by having the user follow along while placed in front of the sensors. TANO-LT is a new exercise program developed by TANOTECH and Lion Corporation called Kenkomin Exercise that can efficiently, simultaneously train oral functions, sleep functions (autonomic nervous system), and motor functions.
- *The above video is a shortened version of Kenkomin Exercise demonstrated by Dr. Ko Matsudaira of the University of Tokyo. It differs slightly from the actual program.
Real results of TANO-LT and Kenkomin Exercise
Real results of TANO-LT and Kenkomin Exercise
- Results confirmed that sticking to a daytime exercise routine improves sleep at night and decreases nighttime wandering.
- Since users want to continue this fun program, cancellations decreased, leading to increased monthly earnings of ¥436,000 per month.
What is Kenkomin Exercise?
What is Kenkomin Exercise?
This is a new kind of exercise that simultaneously, efficiently trains oral functions, sleep functions (autonomic nervous system), and locomotor functions. Based on the idea that cognitive function improves with simultaneous training using multiple areas of the brain,* the exercise program focuses on all three areas. Lion Corporation developed this program in collaboration with Dr. Ko Matsudaira, from the Musculoskeletal Pain Medical Research and Management Unit of the University of Tokyo Hospital 22nd Century Medical and Research Center, and Trunk Solution Corporation to improve the overall health of elderly people who attend day service facilities.

Program Features:
- 21 different 5-minute exercise options
- Selection of chair-based seated training that is safe and easy for the elderly
- Designed to simultaneously improve oral, sleep, and locomotor functions (for example, exercises to strengthen arm and leg muscles while moving the mouth, and exercises to strengthen muscles that also consciously target autonomic nerve regulation to facilitate sleep)
- To make it easier to make regular ongoing exercise a habit, we aim to make it more fun, so we asked Takahiro Yamautsuri, a composer known for theme songs for animated entertainment and other media, to compose bright, cheerful music that makes you want to move your body.
